Joe was in the ER yesterday

For those who don’t know, Joe took a ride in an ambulance to the ER yesterday. He woke up in the morning with severe vertigo. It continued as he tried to get ready to go to work, so I finally called Kaiser. After speaking with him they decided he should not let me drive him to the hospital, I believe they were concerned he may have been having a stroke.

When he got to the ER they determined he had labyrinthitis, an inflamation of the inner ear which triggered the vertigo. They don’t know what caused it, the main symptom was the intense dizziness, along with nausea, vomiting and sweating. They felt that because the symptoms came and went depending on the postion or movement of his head that it was coming from the ear and not a brain bleed, which would have had constant symptoms.

He stayed home today because he wasn’t supposed to drive. He felt much better today, with only a little light headedness.
