Busted!

Well, throughout this ordeal of getting the house repaired and painted I’ve been going crazy trying to pick paint colors. I bought sample jars, put some on the wall then write next to it what number and color it was. Mostly I do this when Noah isn’t around. But last night while trying to make some last minute decisions I was standing there holding Noah and putting a final few samples up.

And then…I got scolded. "No mommy! Don’t write on the walls, only on the paper!"

Huh. I guess he does listen to me sometimes.

We have a date for surgery

Joe’s surgery is set for April 3. Much farther out than we had thought, but I think Joe is kind of glad! I have video from Noah’s birthday when we went skating, I will try to get it up on here soon. We’ve been busy with getting the ceiling repaired and painting done. The living room and foyer are done, will begin on the rest on Monday. Whew!

Keep checking back. I will get video up when I can.

Happy Birthday Noah!

Dsc_0180_2Noah’s 2nd birthday party was yesterday. His actual birthday is tomorrow. In attendance was Grandma Sally, Grandma Bobbie, Aunt Rachelle, Aunt Lisa, Uncle Dave, Cousin Ashley-Jennifer, Friends Niccole and Brett and their kids Patrick (2 years, 2 months) and Charlie (6 weeks). Beau and June dropped off gifts but couldn’t stay.

Some of the things he got: Thomas the Train ride on toy, camping stuff including sleeping bag for using in the RV, a Cars (from the movie) throw rug with a road way printed on it to drive cars on, and some some little toy cars to go with it. A stuffed Pluto, which can be seen riding the train with him. He got a DVD  to learn how to use the potty and some gummy worms, a shirt from the movie The Incredibles and a Winnie the Pooh cup and picture frame, and Shrek 2 DVD. He also got a Leapfrog learning toy and Elmo pj’s and Elmo plate, bowl, fork and spoon set. And in the mail, auntie Anita sent pj’s, swim trunks and a cool animal shirt.

The party was fun! Thanks to everyone who came.

Tomorrow we are planning to go ice skating for the first time. I’ll take some pictures!

P.S. We still don’t have a surgery date, we may have to wait as long as April, we’ll see…

And so it begins…

The Terrible Two’s have arrived. It’s a week or two early, but hey, at least he’s advanced for his age. In the lasts couple of weeks we have some new additions to our vocabulary. The first is the multitude of questions. Where are you going? What is that? What are you doing? Why are you doing that? The never ending river of inquiries is here.

The next one I have heard only a few times, probably because he’s an only child: It’s Mine! He’ll offer a toy to one of the dogs, or even the cat and if they even go to sniff it he informs them It’s Mine!

And then, of course who could forget the classic I won’t. He usually says this quieter and with less conviction than ‘It’s mine’ but with a certain tone of stubbornness.

His answer to naptime? I won’t.

His answer to changing his diaper? I won’t

I’m sure if I said let’s eat candy in front of TV all day his first response would be I won’t. I made Mac n Cheese last night, his favorite

Me: Hurry up and eat, we have to leave

Noah: I won’t

Me: (Cheerfully) OK, then, Daddy and I will eat it (proceed to eat…)

Which brings us to the last one: I want it!!! Now who told this kid if you whine ‘I want it!!!’ annoyingly enough, that you might actually get what you are asking for? Not likely, kiddo!

Calgon, take me away…

P.S. Joe has a call in to schedule the surgery, finally. He’s going to try for Monday the 12th or Tuesday the 13th if they can get him in then. Will post when we know for sure.

Hypothetical situation…

If you ever happen to be pulling your sister’s car out of a snowbank and it’s really cold out, like say, oh, 4 degrees, and there is snow on the ground and lets say you accidently dropped the keys then you should dry the keys thoroughly before inserting them into the ignition. And, if you were to forget to do that, then you should use WD40 to unfreeze the lock. You do NOT need to pay a locksmith $50 to come out and spray the WD40 for you.

Not that I would know or anything.
